House sitters Shuffle and doubling Yellowknifes horn.

Living between the two houses keeps me hopping. Today I rode to the grocery store and locked my bike, only to discover that I had left my keys in the jacket at house 2. A 15 minute walk home and I lucked out has my neighbour was going past the store and gave me a lift to my bike.

The ice cleared the Bay today and so in went my kayak "Sploosh" and we doubled the Horn of Yellowknife. The term doubling is an old square-rigger term for rounding a cape or horn. Yellowknifes most northern point is the tip of Latham Island and this I have dubbed Cape Horn, I have a lot of fun with this as I paddle by the sailboats, when they ask me where I am going I tell "Around the horn."

I did mange that shot walk home which knocks 2,000 steps off my TCT trail Virtual walk and every step counts. I am now 6,100,000 or so steps along the trail and so I still have a ways to go. I may go back and squeeze off a few more steps but now I need to return to the other house and feed the pets.

I had a keyboard malfunction at the other house and I can still race the boat I just can't respond to e-mails from my fellow sailors. I answer from this computer and today I hope to find the problem with the other keyboard.

The Volvo Ocean is going well for me and I am in a good position. Unfortunately Peter my Dutch friend has been forced to retire and that eliminates 2 boats as he was racing two different boats. You can register and race as many as you like but one is enough for me. Peter was stiff competetion and so my chances are greatly improved but I would have preferred to race aganst him all the way. I better grab a few winks as I think todays winds will make for alot of work.
