Welcome to my Blog, enjoy your stay!
In just noticed that my mountain bike is missing and considering that it was well over ten years old and in working but rough shape they probably did me a favour. I was talking with my neighbour Vicki about old bikes when it hit me I haven't seen my mountain bike for awhile. A quick perimeter check of my house and yes the bike is gone. This also happened to my wheel barrow, that however showed up 3 weeks later. It would be so much easier just to knock and ask if you can borrow it.
I managed a nice ride out to the airport and around the old town and then hit the water in "Sploosh." The wind was fairly light but I did find enough to tack across the bay and back a couple of times. I paddled through the causeway and checked on the float planes. There were still a few tied to the dock but the area was looking pretty quiet so I decided to head back and go home. All and all a pleasant way to spend a few hours. Saw a group of seven new paddlers and gave them a helping hand to keep their boats going in the right direction. Folks have a tendecy to drive kind of funny the first time out.
All and all a very nice day even though I never walked the trail at all, tomorrow is another day. Nice thing about the trail is that if I miss a day it is still there the next day.
Our pavilion is looking much better since I knocked the weeds that cover the little park. One day perhaps the city will sod the place. Would make a great little spot for lunch if we cleared a few willows and added some benches. slowly but surely. I talked with Brian the other day and he things that there may be enough names for another plaque on the pavilion. That would be nice.
In wrote a very nice entry for yesterday and somehow managed to delete it before I published. This is probably why I stayed away from Rocket science.
Yesterdy was a day of mixed thunder showers and sunny and warm. Today however seems to have cleared up and shortly I will be heading out to take avantage of this.
The Annual Cassidy Point Horse shoe tourmement is on today being the final day. The crew out there would play, rain or shine unless it was really coming down. Today will also be the last day of the Float plane fly in with the out of town pilots heading off to where eve they flew in from. A smaller turnout this here results of increased fuel cost and a by product of the recession. Last fly in there was a beautiful tiotally retored biplanethat flew up from Washington state. My neighbour Hal is a pilot and involved with th fly in and he managed to get a ride in it. Lucky fellow. The pilot was very generous and gave out lots of rides but I was busy elsewhere and didn't find out until he was to tired to fly folks around. Fair enough I may get a chance yet.
I will come back and continue this once I have actually done something. I think I will start with the bike ride, followed by paddling.
