Float Plane Fly in

Every second year in Yelloknife there is a float plane fly in and the planes arrive from all over N. America. This year things were smaller than the last one but today was also opening day.

I paddled over from my place and ran into some friends that were there. I laughed when the two man band saw me sitting in the yak they fired up some kayaking song. I am pretty sure that they were making it up as they went along and everyone got a laugh out of it. I will stop by again tomorrow and see how many other new planes have arrrived.

Interesting, yesterday morning I saw a picture of Viking Airs new Twin Otter. This is the first twin to be produced in 20 years and it looks like they are making more. Great planes and I have had some very nice flights in twins.

I decided to head for home about 15 minute paddle when the lightning stated to flash over Yellowknife river. Always a wise plan to get of the lake in thunderstorms.
