Yellowknife is cooking again today.

Summer is finally here and only about a month away from the beginning of fall. However the past week has been very nice, hot, sunny and a nice breeze by the lake.

I am just about to head out and now some kayak rolling in the lake.

Busy day and another warm one

Great news the Kidney foundation called this morning and the local Co-OP had called their coin box was full. This box is one of many I check and it takes forever to fill up. when it is all rolled up it will work out to 30/40 dollars which is nice. This money goes into the paddlers for Parts bursary fund that we set up within the Northern Alberta and Territories Branch. We use the fund to give bursaries to Mature students that are living with Kidney diease and trying to improve their lives through education.

I managed to knock off 17,500 steps along the trail as the walk to the CO-OP increases my daily distance. I headed home to fix the creeker at least good enough to go out and practice rolling. However there was a nice and steay south wind and so I fired upa sea kayak and began some sail testing with the WindPaddle sail. So far the test are going good and I enjoy using the sail. I need a few more days with it to get a really good impression but so far it does everything the package said it would.

Next I fixed the creeker and she will do until I get the real stuff to fix her properly. Vickie my neighbour was supposed to come for a lesson but changed her mind. She lives next door and is really interested and so probably Friday as I am busy tomorrow evening.

Jay should be getting pretty close to this end of the North Arm as he was planning to arrive Friday. He asked us to come and find him if he isn't back by by noon Saturday. He has a plane to catch and he doesn't want to miss it. I am confident that it won't come to that as the weather has been good and the winds in his favour, should blow him straight home to my dock. I am looking forward to hearing his story anyway.

I got out for a second paddle but left the sail off this time as I just wanted to paddle . Nice tour enough wind to make it interesting but not enough to cause problems. Bounding across the main in my Sealion is nice as she is a long fast boat for a plastic boat. The only thing about this boat that I don't like is the high seat back which can cause some problems getting out in certain situations.

Dinner was next and them I capped it all off with a 10 k bike ride. All and all not a bad day. Cheers, Greg
