Welcome to my Blog, enjoy your stay!
I am considering turning bthe heat back on if it gets any bloody warmer. Summers here are short enough but this is getting to be a record setting spring, still hovering on zero at night.
I am on house sitting duty again until June 11th and then Laura is home from Maui. I will be spending my time beteen the two homes as the Kayaks are at this one and the dog at the other one. It is only a short sprint by bike and I am there and I was again have laundry . In Yellowknifer there is only one laundrymat now and it is miles from where I live. I am lucky that Laura lets me use her machines as it is much closer to home and free. I do buy the soap and stuff and we all benefit.
I have Cleo the dog and the Cat to feed and look after and Cleo is a very nice dog so I do not mind. The cat and I have an arrangement. we steer clear of each other and I see her dishes are always full but we do not like each other at all. Can't win them all.
I stopped at the Thrift shop on my way home and scored big time in the bike repair department, a great tool set, patch kit and a brand new Bike repair book well over 50 bucks worth of brand new for $2.99 and 2 petzel headlamps for 99 cents each. They work but are and older style battery which may be a challenge. Nothing like a great deal at the Thrift shop and the money goes towards a good cause bonus.
Patrick stopped by and we discussed the upcoming first aid event that we will be running for this years mine rescue competetion. CE$RTNWT has been running this event for 5/6 years now and it is fun for us and we try our best to give the teams a real workout within the first ability that they have. Each year we come up with a very possible situtation and they have 45 minutes to solve the scenario. Great fun all round.
