I awoke before dawn as the song says and got things offf to a good start. I had my way in before tune and have added an extra 8,000 steps checking on my sail boat in the Virtual Volvo ocean race.

Today at Harleys we were holding a celebration of life for our friend Finn Hansen as he passed away on Wednesday. I have been there since 13:00 hrs but ran home twice to change course with my boat. Each trip is 2 lilometres round trip and this is where I gained the extra steps. The celebation is going very well and Finns daughter Kelly came in from Newfoundland and it is always nice to see her. I also met her sister today for the first time. Many folks there that we seldom ever see out any more. Finn Hansen was a very nice person and I had the pleasure of his company many times over the years, saying good-bye is a necessary pleasure. we have followed our harleys Tradition of purchasing a meter of trans canada Trail in Finns name and this will be engraved on the pavilion located in Yellowknife. When the certificate shows up we will send copies to Fred and Kelly and to Wendy who was married to Finn at one point. Harleys is a second home to many of us and we always purchase a meter  of trail for a friend that passes. The Pavilion is only a five minute walk from the bar nd we can always stop by and say hello.

I will take a short break here and go kayaking as the wind is perfect for sailing.
