Slow day blog wise

I have noticed that the week-ends are slower than the week days for hits on the blog and as the weather gets nicer there are less hits. I would rather be outside myself, preferably in a kayak.

I am open for suggestions on things that you might like to see here or ideas of your own concerning water safety, kayaking, canoeing and swift water rescue. Rope work and knots are also a great thing to discuss. Let me know your thoughts, drop me a tag on the tag board.

Today I was very late getting off the starting blocks but managed to ride a few miles and paddle a few. I missed the walk however as time was short . Last night we held the AGM for our Archery club and I needed to be there for that. In my favour is the fact that the Trans-Canada trail is not going anywhere and I can walk on it today.

The paddle was great and the conditions perfect. Did not bother with the sail as there was no wind to speak of . I enjoy just paddling as well and we can't sail everyday.

The Volvo ocean leg 8 is down now to a couple of hundred miles to Marstrand and a 4 day break. Things are going well at the moment and I am in the top 10,000 almost. I should make that easily if things continue to go well. Being a sailing race going well probably won't happen. Should I get into the top ten thousand, my overall standing for the entire race will be greatly improved and that is fine with me.

I better get back there and check my position as we are sailing in shifting conditions and course and sails need to be tended if you hope to place well. Cheers, Greg
