Devon is done and heading for Edmonton

I have been walking along the Trans Canada Trail since Feburary 2008, virtually that is. I found a program on the TCT web page that allows me log either kilometers or steps each time I sign in. The indicated trail then turns from red to green indicated how far I would have covered along the tail that day. I find this to be more fun than just logging the steps in a book. The program started my walk in Victoria,BC and I hit Devon, Alberta today and that is a few steps. I have logged about 5,950,000 steps to reach this point. The walking continues at the rate of roughly 4 miles a day. I decided that when I started I would log the steps that I walk doing my usual chores and walking routine, but would not make an attempt to increase the count just for the counts sake. At 4 miles a day you can guessimate long long this will take.

I started pulling kayaks out of the pile today and reorganizing for the summer season. Time to polish them up and lubricate the rudder cables and the usual stuff that keeps them runniong smoothly. This year I want to perfect my off side roll and the back deck roll and if I am lucky the hand roll. The screw roll is in there as well and I am hoping that will go easy. The screw roll is very similar to the C to C roll I use now but it starts further forward blending the paddle and hipsnap just a fraction of a second earlier than I am used to.

I also want to spend a lot of time in the squirt boat as it is so different from my other boats and it takes a lot of getting used to. Summer here is short and that means I have a lot of stuff to squeeze into a short season. Most of the rolling stuff I hope to knock off easily in a couple of days when we get some warm water and sunshine (with heat) to go with it.
