A day in the Co-op parking lot

We were a little late getting started but we got the trailer and loaded the bike and headed to the Co-op to sell tickets. The day was sunny with a cool breeze and they were lots of folks about.  We had plenty of folks looking and it was just our luck the debit card machine at the Co-op was down and no one could get any money. We did however manage to sell a few and lots of folks were very interested and we'll be seeing them again.

Today was the first day I had seen the motorcycle and she is pure beast. The bike is a classic rigid frame chopper with a very clean set of lines nothing here but engine and frame. Lots of our friends cruised by on their Harleys and we were getting to be quite the gathering at one point.

I think after the preview that ticket sales are going to perk up as soon as we put the bike on permenant display at the Shirt Shack. The e-mails will be going out and we have orders for tickets from BC and Alberta.

The funds raised with the raffle will be used to promote the Paddlers for Parts Association has they promote Organ and Tssue donation and the paddling sports of canoeing and kayaking. The funds will also support the Centre for Northern Families as they have always been the charity of choice for Harleys Hardrock Saloon and Shirt Shack.

We have sold roughly 20 %of the tickets in less than five days and hope that the rest go as quickly and smoothly.

We wold like to thank all those that have bought tickets so far and those that are picking theirs up a little later. The Paddlers and the Center for Northern Families would like to thank everyone for their support and the bike builder Andrew for doing such a fine job on the ride. We wish everyone could win, but that might look a little funny.

Remember that boating season is almost here in Yellowknife so watch out on the ice and dig out those PFDS, you will need them no time at all. Water safety should be big in your mind this time of year as the first few weeks after the ice leaves the water is still very cold.
